The Week of June 16th
Dear St. Stephen’s church family,
Grace and peace to you in our Lord Jesus Christ.
A few things of note:
1. Funeral for our beloved sister in Christ, Marj F
At St. Stephen’s on Thursday, June 27th at 11 am. Lunch to follow.
2. Refresh!
We are painting the stucco on the church building. Work has been postponed until Friday-Saturday, June 28th-29th due to inclement weather. If you are able to help out, please join us at 9:30 on either day, and then after lunch at 1:00. If you are curious about the colour, there is only one way to find out—and it involves holding a paint brush!
3. Parish Church School Picnic
Sunday, June 23rd. Come one, come all, bring a friend. If you are able to bring a potluck item, such as coleslaw***, cut up watermelon or cookies, please let us know and we’ll sign you up! Come and celebrate the church school year.
4. VBS! ROAR!
Takes place July 8-12th. There are still spots available for children ages 4-12. Do you have little people in your family or neighbourhood who would love to come and learn more about God’s love? Send them our way!
Parish Cycle of Prayer:
We pray for those who will attend General Synod in Vancouver in July. We pray for their wisdom and discernment as they work together as the church. We pray for our Delegates: Bishop Chris Harper, Archdeacon Ken Watts, Dean Scott Pittendrigh, Ruth Skinner, Chris Wood and Alexa Wallace.
We pray for Evadne and for Nestor and Gaye and their families.
A quote from Timothy Keller
If the God of the Bible exists, and there is a True Reality beneath and behind this one, and this life is not the only life, then every good endeavor, even the simplest ones, pursued in response to God’s calling, can matter forever.
Sent faithfully, hopefully and with love,
In Christ,
The Rev. Amy <><
